Nach dem Widerruf des Ediktes von Nantes durch Ludwig XIV am 18. Oktober 1685 flüchteten ca. 160 000 Franzosen protestantischen Glaubens, viele davon nach Brandenburg/Preußen und einige nach Sachsen. Sowohl die Flucht, als auch die Aufnahmebedingungen, die Integration und die sprachliche Hinterlassenschaft der Emigranten wird in dieser Arbeit beschrieben.
