In vielen wirtschaftlichen Theorien zum Thema Finanzen wird von einem rationalen Anleger ausgegangen, dessen einziges Ziel es ist Gewinne zu maximieren. In der Behavioral Finance dagegen beschäftigen sich die Wissenschaftler damit, aus welchen emotionalen Beweggründen finanzielle Entscheidungen getroffen werden. Bislang wurden auf Basis des homo oeconomicus viele Theorien erarbeitet die helfen sollten Märkte und deren Entwicklung voraus zu sagen. So entstanden zum Beispiel die Fundamentalanalyse und die technische Analyse1. Jedoch waren deren Aussichten nur wenig erfolgsversprechend. In den letzten Jahren entstand deshalb in den USA ein neuer Zweig der Kapitalmarktanalyse, der das Verhalten der Marktteilnehmer unter Anwendung von Theorien und Methoden aus der Öko-nomie und der Psychologie erforschte. Dabei geht es bei der Behavioral Finance vor allem darum einen homo oeconomicus, also einen rational handelnden Menschen, auszuschließen und das in der Praxis überwiegende suboptimale Verhalten der Anleger zu verbessern. In der folgenden Arbeit soll hauptsächlich auf das Fehlverhalten eines durchschnittlichen Privatanlegers bei Aufnahme, Verarbeitung und Bewertung von Informationen eingegangen werden.2 Außerdem soll das Verhalten eines Anlegers in einer Gruppe betrachtet werden, da anhand von Interaktionen unter den Marktteilnehmern sich Fehlverhalten auch auf eine Gruppe übertragen lässt. Das Ziel soll deshalb sein dem einzelnen Privatanleger ein besseres Verständnis der eigenen Entscheidungsfindung zu vermitteln und auch ein umfassenderes Verständnis über das Verhalten anderer Marktteilnehmer.
