Soziologische Deutungen einer Umbruchszeit., Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Über vierzig Jahre später wird die 68er-Revolte immer noch unterschiedlich interpretiert und kontrovers diskutiert. Besonders einer der Protagonisten polarisiert nach wie vor. Er war marxistischer Soziologe und kämpfte für die Befreiung aller Menschen von Krieg, Ausbeutung und Angst. Mit Aktionismus wollte er für Aufklärung sorgen und dadurch die seiner Meinung nach medial hervorgerufene „gesellschaftliche Bewusstlosigkeit“ aufheben. Sein Ziel war die permanente Weltrevolution und ein demokratischer Sozialismus. Von den Einen wird er als gewalttätiger Polit-Rowdy und gefährlicher Demagoge beschimpft, die Anderen verehren ihn, den grundgütigen, nach Wahrheit und Gerechtigkeit strebenden Menschen, als großen politischen Rhetoriker und Theoretiker. Jedenfalls ziert er das Cover der meisten Bücher über die 68er und in jeder Dokumentation über diese Zeit ist seine markante Stimme zu hören. Die Rede ist vom „Herz der Revolte“, von der Personifizierung der Studentenbewegung: Rudi Dutschke.

In diesem Essay möchte ich in zwei Schritten beleuchten, wie und warum dieser Mann zum dem Mythos wurde, der uns heute noch präsent ist. Zunächst gilt es, die Verwandlung vom jungen in der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik lebenden Christen zum antiautoritären Sozialisten und westdeutschen Studentenführer zu erklären. Im zweiten Schritt möchte ich zeigen, dass die Mythologisierung des – wie Michaela Karl ihn nennt – „Revolutionärs ohne Revolution“ nicht ausschließlich mit seinen Leistungen zusammenhängt. Dutschke hatte nie beabsichtigt, zum Mythos zu werden. Er wollte im Gegenteil immer genau das vermeiden. Es müssen demnach eine Reihe anderer Faktoren eine Rolle gespielt haben.
