Diese Geschehnisse nahmen ihren Anfang im Reich der Feuergöttin, wo Mythor für Honga, einen aus dem Totenreich zurückgekehrten Helden, gehalten wurde. Es kam zur Begegnung mit Vina, der Hexe, und Gerrek, dem Mann, der in einen Beuteldrachen verwandelt worden war. Es folgten Kämpfe mit Luftgeistern und Amazonen, es kam zu Mythors Gefangenschaft, zur Flucht und zu erneuten Kämpfen mit denen, die sich an Mythors Fersen geheftet hatten.
Während Mythor-Honga mit seinen neuen Gefährten den Hexenstern zu erreichen sucht, wo er seine geliebte Fronja, die Tochter des Kometen, in großer Gefahr weiß, kommt es in Gorgan gleichermaßen zu Geschehnissen, die für die Zukunft der Lichtwelt von weitreichender Bedeutung sein können.
Neben Nottr, dem Barbaren, wirkt dort auch Luxon-Arruf, der Sohn des ermordeten Shallad Rhiad und somit rechtmäßiger Shallad, im Sinn des Lichtes. Sein gefahrvoller Weg führt ihn vom Tal der Schmetterlinge zum PALAST DER TRÄNEN ...
