Weltkrieg, Weimarer Republik, Note: 1,0, Universität Wien (Institut für Zeitgeschichte), Veranstaltung: Verschränkte Machtübernahmen: Deutschland und Österreich 1933/34-1938/39, 4 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Nach dem 1.Weltkrieg wurden die Staaten Europas, mit Ausnahme des sowjetischen Russlands, von gewählten parlamentarischen Regierungen geleitet. Der Triumph der Demokratie war jedoch nur von kurzer Dauer, denn die jungen Demokratien sahen sich mit den problematischen Altlasten des Weltkrieges konfrontiert:
a.) Nationalismus
Das „Selbstbestimmungsrecht der Völker“ verstärkte nationalistisches Empfinden, welches zur Verschärfung der Minderheitenproblematik und zur innenpolitischen Destabilisierung führte.
b.) Friedensverträge
Besiegte Länder wünschten Revision und gaben den Vertretern der neuen politischen Systeme die Schuld an den harten Friedensbedingungen.
c.) Kommunismus
Durch die kommunistische Machtergreifung in Russland und diversen Revolutionen in den ersten Monaten nach Kriegsende herrschte in Europa eine „Kommunistenfurcht“ vor, die den rechten politischen Parteien in die Hände spielte.
d.) Wirtschaftsmisere
Da sowohl die Siegermächte durch Kriegsschulden, als auch die Verlierer durch Reparationszahlungen enormen wirtschaftlichen Belastungen ausgesetzt waren, blieb der wirtschaftliche Aufschwung größtenteils aus.
Hinzu kam noch Unerfahrenheit und teilweise Unfähigkeit in der demokratiepolitischen Konsensfindung, die schließlich dazu führte das ,mit Ausnahme der Tschechoslowakei, alle neuen Demokratien bis 1939 durch Rechtsdiktaturen abgelöst wurden. Das Hauptaugenmerk dieser Ausarbeitung liegt auf den Machtübernahmen die in Europa während der 20er Jahre stattgefunden haben, und versucht Gemeinsamkeiten als auch Unterschiede zwischen den Ereignissen und Bewegungen der einzelnen Länder zu finden.
