Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Kinder und Jugend, Note: 1.0, Universität zu Köln (Erzeihungswissenschaftliche Fakultät; Seminar für Soziologie und ihre Didaktik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der nun folgenden Arbeit befasse ich mich zunächst in einem ersten Überblick mit den Symptomen von Armut, das heißt, in welchen Formen Armut bei betroffenen oder gefährdeten Bevölkerungsgruppen in Erscheinung tritt.
Danach erfolgt eine Analyse der Ursachen für Armut.
Schließlich befasse ich mich mit den unterschiedlichen Konsequenzen von Armut. Hierbei gibt es drei Schwerpunkte: erst einmal gehe ich auf die Konsequenzen von Armut im Sinne ihrer Auswirkungen ein, wobei die gesundheitlichen Auswirkungen für mich von besonderem Interesse sind. Denn ein umfassender Einblick über die Armutsauswirkungen ist in der Literatur selten11.
In dem darauf folgenden Schwerpunkt geht es um die Konsequenzen, die in Bezug auf bestehende Armutslagen gezogen werden. Dabei sind staatliche Reaktionen auf Armutserscheinungen genau so von Interesse wie die der betroffenen Menschen selbst.
Besonders interessant sind hierbei Bewältigungsstrategien von Menschen, mit denen sie auf die Auswirkungen von Armut reagieren.
Der letzte Schwerpunkt behandelt die möglichen Konsequenzen von vorhersehbaren Armutsgefährdungen. Anders gesagt, welche Möglichkeiten der Prävention es gibt, um das Risiko zu minimieren, in Unterversorgungslagen abzurutschen.

Dann werde ich im Rahmen einer Zusammenfassung die gewonnenen Ergebnisse der Arbeit noch einmal darlegen und abschließend aufzeigen, welche Bedeutung diese Ergebnisse für Lehrer und ihr Handeln haben können.
