Doch kann man letztendlich Napoleon zustimmen? War die Halsbandaffäre so ausschlaggebender, dass Marie Antoinette schließlich auf dem Schafott landen musste? Inwieweit verändert also dieser Hofskandal des Ancien Régime das Ansehen von Marie Antoinette?

Auf diese Fragestellung werde ich in der folgenden Arbeit eingehen. Dabei werde ich zunächst ihre Stellung bei Hofe beschreiben und ihr Ansehen vor der Halsbandaffäre analysieren. Daraufhin folgt eine Analyse ihres Ansehens nach der Affäre. Schließlich komme ich abschließend zu einem Resümee.
