Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europa - Deutschland - Nachkriegszeit, Kalter Krieg, Note: 2,0, Universität Konstanz, Veranstaltung: Proseminar: Kosmos und Konsum. Kultur der Sowjetunion nach 1945, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Seit Anfang der Siebziger Jahre rückt die Planwirtschaft der sozialistischen Staaten ins Blickfeld der kapitalistischen Westmächte. Der Kalte Krieg kühlte sich ein wenig ab, ebenso wie die 1968er-Revolte und besonders seit der ersten Ölkrise 1973 setzt eine Art Reflexion des eigenen Systems und Bilanzziehung des sowjetischen Systems ein. Nachdem der achte Fünfjahresplan relativ erfolgreich erfüllt wurde, stiegen die Erwartungen an den neunten Plan (1971-1975) erheblich. Das große Ziel, gegenüber dem Westen, besonders den USA, aufzuholen um sie dann zu überholen, erscheint heute utopisch. Die wissenschaftliche Arbeit im Zentrum aller Überlegungen, wurde an Hand von Statistiken und Wachstumsprognosen der USA und der Sowjetunion der Fortschritt aufgezeigt. Wie auch viele andere 'offizielle' Zahlen waren auch diese beschönt beziehungsweise schlicht falsch. Das Ergebnis des Ehrgeiz lässt sich bereits 1972, 73 erkennen: der Plan geht nicht auf.
Mit den Problemen der Produktion hingen auch die Versorgung der Bevölkerung und des Konsum zusammen. Während im Westen der Konsum die Vorraussetzung für das Bestehen des Wirtschaftssystems und des Wohlstandes ist, so wird im Sozialismus der Konsum gewährt zum Erhalt des politischen Systems. Er wird ermöglicht, aber nicht aktiv gefördert, der Sowjetbürger darf konsumieren, aber nur unter beschwerten Bedingungen. Die Folgen, die sich aus der Art des Konsums ergeben betreffen auch die Produktion und die Art der Produktion ist wiederum für die Probleme des Konsums verantwortlich.
In meiner Hausarbeit möchte ich die Probleme der sozialistischen Planwirtschaft darstellen, die sich aus ihr ergebenen Probleme der Bevölkerung im Alltag, deren Umgang und mögliche Ursachen aufzeigen.
